Detroit – Honda is reportedly implementing a recall on 600,000 Accords due to safety issues with a power steering hose. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the recall on the midsized vehicles affects 2003-2007 model Accords with V-6 engines in the U.S. and Canada. The faulty hose can reportedly lead to fire or loss of power steering if leaking.

The automaker reportedly won’t have replacement hoses available until next year, but will replace the faulty hoses for free. Due to the affected models being more than five years old, the hoses had been out of production.

Ed Miller, a spokesman for Honda, is quoted by the AP as stating of manufacturing the replacement hoses, “We’re going to start making them and getting them out there as soon as we can.”
