Stevenson, Alabama – An Alabama man is fighting to keep the remains of his wife buried in his front yard. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), James Davis is challenging an order to remove his wife’s remains from his front yard after the city sued to have her body placed somewhere else.

Davis is quoted by the AP as stating of the matter, “Good Lord, they’ve raised pigs in their yard, there’s horses out the road here in a corral in the city limits, they’ve got other gravesites here all over the place… And there shouldn’t have been a problem.”

The Alabama Civil Court of Appeals is reportedly considering Davis’ challenge to the order of a county judge.

Davis says that the burial location was the wish of his deceased wife to whom he was married to for 48 years.
