Atlanta – A woman has been charged with DUI after an accident in which two other people were injured. As reported by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, police say the woman, Karen Smith Morton, was driving drunk while her 6-year-old daughter was in the vehicle.

As noted in the report, the child was reportedly not injured in the crash, but two people in the second vehicle involved in the accident were taken to Northside Hospital with injuries.

Dunwoody police officer Tim Fecht is quoted in the report as stating of the issue of driving while under the influence, “People have to think a lot smarter and just make reasonable decisions in their lives…you’re endangering your children and also everybody else out on the roadway.”

Morton has been charged with driving under the influence and child endangerment.
