Cincinnati – A police chase over stolen snack items ended in a serious car accident. As reported by Cincinnati.com, the police pursuit of a vehicle occupied by several young girls followed an alleged convenience store theft early Tuesday morning. The stolen items reportedly include potato chips, candy, and other goods valued at a cost of $26.29 total.

As noted in the report, the car crash that ended the police chase left one of the girls in the vehicle in critical condition, and injured two others. Charges are purportedly pending against the16-year-old driver and other occupants of the vehicle.

There is also an ongoing investigation into the actions of the officer involved in the pursuit to determine whether proper procedures were followed. Sgt. Dennis Swingley, Cincinnati police spokesman, is quoted in the report as stating of investigators, “They’re looking into all aspects of this incident.”
