Camden, NJ — An industrial accident at a Camden auto and tire repair shop left a worker dead on Tuesday, October 25, 2011. The fatal workplace accident occurred at 5 Points Tire and Auto Repair, located at the intersection of 27th and River Road around 10:30 a.m., reported ABC6-WPVI.

According to Camden Police, a worker was attempting to cut a chain by using a high-powered grinding wheel when the wheel apparently came loose, which caused the blade to be catapulted into the worker’s chest.

Responding emergency crews rushed the victim to Cooper University Hospital for medical treatment. His injuries ultimately proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.

The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time. But, family and friends indicated he was a 33-year-old father of three.
