Pasco County, FL — A school bus crash injured four people when the bus collided with another vehicle at a Pasco County intersection. The school bus crash took place near the intersection of Monteverde Drive and Bosley Road in Spring Hill shortly before 3 p.m., reported Bay News 9.

According to police, the school bus was headed south on Monteverde Drive and was nearing a stop sign at the intersection of Bosley Road when the bus driver, 86-year-old Raymond Lucas, failed to yield to the stop sign.

The school bus crashed into the Buick LeSabre, driven by Julie Ann Black, 51, which was traveling east on Bosely Road, and did not have a stop sign.

The impact of the collision caused the school bus to roll over and land on its side in the southeast corner of the intersection. The Buick spun uncontrollably into the southwest corner of the intersection.

Responding emergency crews rushed two minors aboard the bus, a 17-year-old girl and her 2-month-old daughter, to Spring Hill Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

Black sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center for medical treatment.

Lucas was taken to Spring Hill Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

All four people were reportedly wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash, police reported.

Investigations into the injurious school bus crash are underway. It was not reported if Lucas was cited for the traffic accident.
