Lynx Bus, SUV Crash Injures 10 in Orange County, FL

Orlando, FL — A rear-end collision involving an SUV and a Lynx bus injured several people Thursday night, August 25, 2011. The bus accident occurred on northbound State Road 436 in Orange County, reported WFTV.com.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP), the Lynx bus was stopped in the right lane with its light activated and flashing, when an SUV traveling in the inside lane cut across all northbound lanes and crashed into the rear of the bus.

The driver of the SUV, 36-year-old Jason Finnegan was reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the wreck.

Responding emergency crews rushed Finnegan to Orlando Regional Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

The Lynx bus driver, 43-year-old Wendall Stribling sustained minor injuries.

Eight passengers aboard the bus, identified as: Fredys A Henriquez, Jason Eagle, Maria Valdez, Jasmin Santiago, Jasmine Taruncon, Angel Ortiz Garcia, Forest Jackson Jr., and Oswaldo Marino, sustained minor injuries in the bus accident.

The bus accident is under investigation and charges are pending.
