San Francisco, CA — A flying baseball bat injured three fans at a San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants baseball game on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, during the first inning, reported USA Today.
According to officials, all three fans were sitting above the Padres’ dugout along the first base, when Pablo Sandoval from the Giants swung and lost control of the baseball bat.
The loose bat bounced off the dugout roof and hit the three fans.
One of the fans, a female, was rushed by responding emergency crews to an area hospital as a precaution. The woman was reportedly holding her head with a towel as she left the scene in a wheelchair.
Another man was hit in around his eyebrow, while the third person was hit in the shin. Both of the victims received medical treatment at the stadium.
