Nevada Highway Patrol: Camaro Rear-Ends Chinese Tour Bus near Moapa; 9 Injured

Las Vegas, NV — The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a tour bus accident on Interstate 15 that injured nine people, including eight passengers on the bus. The bus accident occurred on Interstate 15 near Moapa, just after 7 a.m., reported the Las Vegas Sun.

According to the NHP, the Chinese tour bus was transporting 41 passengers when it was rear-ended by a red Chevrolet Camaro. The U.S. Asia Casino Tours bus was reportedly headed north, when it attempted to make a U-turn at a center median to head back south was rear-ended by the Camaro in the northbound lanes.

Responding emergency crews stated that eight people on the bus sustained minor injuries in the wreck. It is unknown if any of the injured passengers were taken to area hospitals.

The female driver of the Camaro was airlifted via helicopter to University Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.

The NHP major accident team is investigating the wreck.
