MBTA Bus, Vehicle Collide on Route 28 in Milton; 8 Injured

Boston, MA — A collision involving a MBTA bus and a passenger car injured eight people in Milton Tuesday morning, June 6, 2011. The automobile accident occurred on Router 28 at around 8:21 a.m., reported Boston.com.

According to police officials, the MBTA bus was traveling northbound on the highway, when it collided with a southbound car that was attempting to make a left-hand turn onto Chickatawbut Road.

The bus driver and four passengers on the bus were transported to area hospitals for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. Responding emergency crews also transported the driver of the car to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. The driver of the car reportedly suffered the most serious of injuries in the wreck.

Police reports later indicated that eight people in all were injured in the bus accident.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
