Raleigh, NC — Police are investigating a multiple vehicle crash, involving a Wake County school bus, that injured several people Thursday afternoon, May 26, 2011. The automobile accident occurred on Strickland Road in Raleigh, reported NBC 17.

According to police officials, it is unclear what caused the crash.

Bill Anderson told NBC 17 that his maroon Cadillac was the first vehicle hit by the bus, and he saw at least three other vehicles hit by the bus as it turned into West Millbrook Middle School.

The school bus finally came to a stop on school property, when it pinned a car against a tree.

Responding emergency crews rushed several people to hospitals for treatment of injuries. None of the injuries were reportedly life-threatening.

There were no students on the bus at the time of the accident.

Investigations are underway.
