Waccamaw Metal Recycling Employee Crushed by Dumpster

Myrtle Beach, SC — A Waccamaw Metal Recycling employee was killed Thursday afternoon, May 26, 2011, when a dumpster fell on top of him. The fatal workplace accident occurred at Waccamaw Metal Recycling located at 1626 Stockholder Ave. around 1 p.m., reported WMBFNews.
According to police officers, Stephen Breidinger, 53, of Conway was killed when a dumpster that was being unloaded suddenly fell on top of him, pinning him underneath the dumpster.
Responding emergency crews pronounced Breidinger dead at the scene.
The Myrtle Beach Police Department reported that the victim was an employee of Waccamaw Metal Recycling.
The exact cause of death is pending an autopsy by the Horry County Coroner’s Office.
Investigations are underway. OSHA is likely to conduct an investigation as well.
