Chevrolet Camaro Slams into Houston Toll Booth, Killing an Employee

Houston, TX — A late-night rollover accident on the Sam Houston Tollway killed a toll booth operator, after a vehicle hit a cement barrier and was sent airborne into the woman. The automobile accident occurred in northwest Harris County, near the Antoine Drive exit at around 11 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2011, reported MyFoxHouston.com.

According to police, a Chevrolet Camaro was traveling at a high rate of speed when it slammed into a cement barrier. The impact of the crash sent the Camaro airborne and hit a female toll booth operator.

The toll booth operator was reportedly sweeping a closed toll lane when she was hit and thrown almost 50 yards.

The toll booth employee did not survive the accident.

The Camaro came to a rest about 100 yards from where it first crashed.

The driver of the Camaro, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries.

Police officers are conducting a full investigation into the automobile accident.
