Kansas City, MO — A Kansas City Fire Department battalion chief was involved in a multiple vehicle accident while responding to a fire in Raytown. The automobile accident occurred at about 8:50 a.m., at 87th Street and James A. Reed Road, reported the Kansas City Star.

According to officials, the chief was headed east on 8th Street in a SUV with his lights and sirens on, when it T-boned a Chevy Impala that was traveling south on Reed. The two vehicles then hit a Ford Escape that was stopped at the intersection.

The Impala was found in the parking lot of a nearby veterinary clinic.

Responding emergency crews took the driver of the Impala to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. A friend transported the driver of the Escape to the hospital as well.
