San Jose, CA — Five people were injured, including one girl who was ejected from a minivan, in a two-vehicle crash outside a South San Jose shopping center. The fatal automobile accident occurred Wednesday afternoon, March 30, 2011 at around 3:30 p.m. outside the Blossom Hill Square Shopping Center at Blossom Hill and Harwood roads, close to the Los Gatos border, reported the San Jose Mercury News.

According to police officials, the collision occurred between a minivan and a small SUV, which caused one girl to be thrown from the minivan. Details surrounding the car wreck and how it occurred were not released.

Another minor and two adults in the minivan were injured in the wreck. The driver of the SUV also sustained injuries. There were no passengers in the SUV at the time of the accident.

About 25 firefighters and four ambulances rushed to the scene. Rescue crews had to use extraction tools to remove some of the occupants of the vehicles from the wreckage.

The San Jose police are conducting a full investigation into the crash.
