Dallas, TX—Scotch Corporation and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recalled about 74,760 Instant Power® Toilet Bowl Restorer™ for risk of chemical burns and irritation to the skin and eyes. The CPSC announced the product recall on March 22, 2011.

The product recall was issued after discovering that the contents can leak from the cap when the bottle is turned on its side. If this occurs, the cleaner can come into contact with consumers and property, which poses a risk of chemical burns and irritation to the skin and eyes.

“This recall involves Instant Power Toilet Bowl Restorer cleaner with model number 1803. The model number is printed on the back of the bottle next to the barcode. The toilet bowl restoring product was sold in a gray plastic bottle with an orange cap. The words ‘Guaranteed’ and ‘Toilet Bowl Restorer’ are printed on the bottle,” reported the CPSC press release.

Consumers are advised to contact Scotch for disposal instructions and for a full refund.

For more information concerning the product recall, consumers can contact Scotch Corporation at (800) 613-4242 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, or visit their website at www.scotchcorp.com.
