Saratoga Springs, UT—An uncovered manhole in Saratoga Springs caused an 11-year-old girl to fall nearly 15 feet. The victim was walking along State Road 73, when she fell at around 7:30 p.m. near 243 East, as reported by FOX 13 Now.

Authorities reported that the girl, who remains unidentified, was trapped for 30 minutes before she was rescued by fire crews.

A medical helicopter flew the girl to Primary Childrens Medical Center for precaution measures. She reportedly didn’t suffer any life-threatening injuries.

The victim has been released from the hospital and is recovering at home.

It is unknown why the manhole was uncovered, but officials believe a snow plow blade may have accidentally removed the cover from the manhole.

A full investigation is underway.
