St. Louis, MO—A female Catholic student claims that a bus driver did nothing to stop her from being sexually assaulted on the school bus. The parents of the girl have contacted police and have since launched an investigation into the assault, as reported by USA Today.
The female student, 13, was reportedly on her way home from school one day last week, when she was called to the back of the bus by a boy. The girl informed her mother that the other students on the bus, a total of 14 people, moved forward on the bus to distance themselves from the assault.
The girl’s mother has contacted police and St. Louis police department’s Sex Crimes Unit. The names of the students who were on the bus from Most Holy Trinity School and Academy are being sought, as well as the identity of the bus driver. School officials reported that the bus driver has been put on leave, while the investigation is ongoing.
A full investigation is underway.
