City of Industry, CA—VOS Sports Inc. and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) have voluntarily recalled about 11,700 children’s hooded jackets and sweatshirts over strangulation hazards. The CPSC announced the recall on November 19, 2010.
The recall was initiated after discovering that the garment’s drawstrings can pose a strangulation hazard.
The CPSC reported, “This recall involves all children’s hooded sweatshirts and nylon hooded jackets with drawstring sold under the brand name ‘VOS Sports.’ The sweatshirt and jackets were sold in assorted sizes including S-M or L and in up to 14 colors. ‘VOS Sports’ and ‘RN#94353’ are printed on the sewn-in label.” The recall involves:
• Style Number: A1071 Nylon Jacket
o Colors: black, navy, Hunter green, gold, royal, burgundy, red.
o Description: hood drawstrings.
o Sizes: Small & Medium
• Style Number: B300 Nylon Jacket
o Colors: black, Carolina blue, green, gold, maroon, navy, orange, purple, red, royal blue, white.
o Description: hood & waist drawstrings.
o Sizes: Small, Medium, Large
• Style Number: B600 Nylon Jacket
o Colors: black, Carolina blue, green, Kelly green, maroon, navy, red, royal blue.
o Description: hood & waist drawstrings.
o Sizes: Small, Medium, Large
• Style Number: B700 Nylon Jacket
o Colors: black/black, black/ blue, black/red, navy/gold, navy/navy.
o Description: hood drawstrings.
o Sizes: Small, Medium
• Style Number: B900 Sweatshirt
o Colors: black, brown, Carolina blue, charcoal, gold, grey, green, maroon, navy, orange, purple, red, royal blue.
o Description: hood drawstrings.
o Sizes: Small, Medium
• Style Number: 1066 Nylon Jacket
o Colors: white, black.
o Description: hood & waist drawstrings.
o Sizes: Small, Medium, Large
