Flagstaff, AZ—An industrial accident at a salvage yard on Monday, September 27, 2010 left a Flagstaff woman dead. The fatal accident occurred at approximately 8 p.m., at a salvage yard on Roosevelt Drive off of Leupp Road, as reported by AZFamily.com.

According to police officials, two men and a 38-year-old woman were attempting to fix a Bobcat-style tractor, which had a malfunctioning front-end loader. Apparently the door of the tractor wouldn’t close, and the front loader was in the up position, as the woman was standing at the front of the tractor. Another person was reportedly inside the cab of the tractor, while the third was attempting to shut the door, when for unclear reasons, the front end of the tractor lowered onto the woman. The woman became pinned between the front end of the tractor and the loader.

When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they rushed the victim to Flagstaff Medical Center for treatment. Sadly, the woman died soon after arriving at the hospital.

A full investigation into the industrial accident is underway.
