Barton, WI—An unfortunate two-vehicle wreck claimed the life of a teenager and left two others seriously injured Thursday, August 26, 2010. The devastating collision occurred around 11:15 a.m. in Washington County, according to information provided by the Journal Sentinel.

Reports indicated 17-year-old Danielle R. Held was driving her vehicle northbound on county Highway B when she attempted to make an abrupt U-turn at Beaver Dam Road. However, a pickup truck driven by 34-year-old Carmon D. Brown was driving behind her at the time.

Brown’s pickup truck consequently slammed into the driver’s side of Held’s vehicle as it was turning. Held, a West Bend resident, succumbed to her traumatic crash-induced injuries at the scene.

Held’s 18-year-old passenger Nolan D. Sheppard, also of West Bend, sustained internal injuries in the truck-car collision. Nolan was rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital before being transferred to Froedtert Hospital via medical helicopter.

Brown, of George West, Texas, acquired neck and back injuries in the pickup truck accident. Emergency medical services (EMS) personnel took him to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Department is expected to conduct a full probe into the fatal Barton collision.
