Clearwater, FL (Clearwater wrongful death attorney news)—A Clearwater man was killed after being struck by two teenagers on a bicycle on Sunday, July 4, 2010. The two 16-year-olds were riding the bike on the Memorial Causeway when they hit and killed the pedestrian, as reported by the St. Petersburg Times and Tampa Bay wrongful death attorney, David Shapiro.

Police officers reported that the two boys were speeding down the Memorial Causeway Bridge around 11:30 p.m., on a single bicycle. One teen was pedaling while the other was riding on the handlebars. A pedestrian, identified as Dean Anthony Bartolo, who was walking in the opposite direction, collided with the teens.

Bartolo sustained fatal head injuries in the wreck. Responding emergency crews pronounced him dead at the scene.

The two boys were also injured and taken to an area hospital for treatment. They reportedly did not suffer any serious injuries. The teens have since been treated and released.

Authorities are investigating the accident and deciding if they will press criminal charges against the teenagers. It is unknown what may have caused the teens and the pedestrian to collide.
