Clearwater, FL (Tampa Bay SUV Accident Lawyer News)– Clearwater Police are investigating a sport utility vehicle accident which killed a pedestrian, after dragging the woman underneath the vehicle and into a building. Crash investigators stated that Clearwater resident Jonathon Grinsted, 51, was trying to back out in his 1998 Toyota Land Cruiser, when he apparently put the car in drive instead of reverse, causing the SUV to shoot forward. The SUV then struck a woman, who happened to be walking in front of the realty office at the time. The vehicle ran her over and then continued to drag her through a window and into the building where she became trapped underneath the SUV.

Responding rescue crews rushed to the scene to free 44-year-old Clearwater resident Ashley Boyle from underneath the vehicle. Boyle was rushed to Morton Plant Hospital where she later succumbed to her extensive injuries.

Clearwater Police are conducting a full investigation into the fatal SUV crash. Mr. Grinsted has not been charged for the accident at this time.
