Miami, FL—A father and daughter were vacationing in Miami when their trip took a frightening turn Monday afternoon, June 7, 2010. The two family members were hurt during a inexplicable parasailing blunder, according to information provided by MSNBC Miami.

Miami Fire-Rescue Lt. Ignatius Carroll contended, “The boat may have lost power and as a result, they had no control to bring the parasailers in.” However, a full probe will be required to justify such possibilities.

The injurious episode occurred near Bayside Marketplace in downtown Miami at approximately 4 p.m. Lt. Carroll noted that when the unspecified blip occurred aboard the watercraft, the parasail was subsequently lowered. The father and his daughter were in turn dragged over the water and into a sea wall.

The boat’s captain was seemingly forced to cut the two victims loose after the incident. Both family members were discovered near a barge at the Port of Miami.

Emergency medical services (EMS) personnel were subsequently dispatched to the scene to take the man and his 6-year-old child to Ryder Trauma Center. Their injuries were considered to be minor. Officials have not released the identities of those involved in the parasailing accident.

According to Jorge Pino with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), “It could have gone horribly bad…but now the investigation begins… Ultimately, somebody’s gonna be held responsible for what happened.”
