Illinois wrongful death lawyer alert- A wrongful death lawsuit was filed in connection with a fatal plane crash that occurred near an airport in Wheeling, Illinois.

Wheeling, IL—An eight-count wrongful death lawsuit was filed in connection with a fatal aviation accident on Monday, April 12, 2010. The suit, filed by a plane crash victim’s wife in Cook County Circuit Court, named the aircraft’s owner, the company that was using the plane when it was downed, and the “possible” pilot as defendants, according to information provided by PioneerLocal.com.

Reports stated 59-year-old Mark Turek and 61-year-old Kenneth Knudson were piloting the twin-engine Cessna aircraft, which has dual controls, when it crashed in close proximity to the Palwaukee Municipal Airport in Wheeling, Illinois on January 30, 2006. Turek, Knudson, as well as two other passengers, 40-year-old Scott Garland and 37-year-old Michael Waugh, suffered fatal injuries in the aviation accident. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) conducted a probe into the deadly aviation accident, in which they reported the small aircraft stalled and eventually crashed due to the “pilot’s failure to maintain airspeed during the landing approach”. However, a vital question remains unanswered with regard to the fatal plane crash: Who was piloting the plane when it was downed?

While officials were seemingly unable to reveal who was controlling the aircraft when it crashed, Turek’s wife, who filed the wrongful death lawsuit, named Randall Repke, the man in charge of Knudson’s estate, as a defendant in the suit. Sybaris Clubs International Inc. and HK Golden Eagle Inc. were also named as defendants in the lawsuit.
