5-year-old steamrolled by Sierra-At-Tahoe Resort chairlift

California personal injury attorneys alert- A boy was injured at the Sierra-At-Tahoe Resort after falling from a chairlift.

Roseville, CA—A 5-year-old boy was left in a cast from his hips to his thighs after he fell out of a chairlift at the Sierra-At-Tahoe Resort. The boy’s parents are accusing the chairlift operator of not paying attention while doing her job, which left Parker Lennig injured, as reported by KCRA.

On Friday, March 5, 2010, Lennig was on the chairlift with his brother, father and grandfather, and were about to come to the end of their second ride up the Easy Rider Express chairlift, when Lennig fell out. As Lennig fell out of the chairlift near the base lodge, Parker’s father immediately looked over a the chairlift operator, and noticed that she was looking down and hadn’t noticed the accident. The chairlift steamrolled the young boy about 10 to 15 feet before it came to a stop. A responding ambulance rushed Lennig to an area hospital for treatment of bruises and a dislocated hip, ending what they thought would be a nice family trip.

A spokesperson for Sierra-At-Tahoe stated, “The operator was inside the lift shack, she saw Parker fall, and immediately hit the stop button on the lift. At that point, the chair passed over Parker. Cattell said the operator then ran out of the lift shack to help Parker and came back into the lift shack to immediately call ski patrol.”

Lennig’s parents are contemplating a lawsuit, but at this moment they are trying to warn other parents about the dangers of chairlifts.
