Olympia, WA—A two-vehicle collision on Sunday, February 28, 2010 in front of South Sound Center, hospitalized seven people. The crash occurred around 10:30 a.m., at Pacific Avenue in Lacey, as reported by the News Tribune.

According to Lacey police officials, a white minivan was making a left turn into the mall when a westbound red SUV slammed into the minivan, after the SUV failed to yield to a red traffic light. Seven people, who were all riding in the minivan, were injured in the crash. The victims, which included an infant, were rushed by responding emergency medical services (EMS) teams to Providence St. Peter Hospital for treatment. A 19-year-old female sustained the most serious injuries, but they were reportedly non-life threatening. The driver of the SUV was not transported to the hospital for treatment; it is unknown if the driver sustained any injuries or was treated at the scene. Police officials are currently investigating the two-vehicle crash. It was not reported if any citations were issued for the collision. The investigation is ongoing.

The scene of the crash at Pacific Avenue was shut down for about an hour while investigations took place and crews cleaned up the scene of debris.
