Lebanon, TN— A motor vehicle collision (MVC) involving a school bus and an SUV injured five students on Wednesday morning, December 16, 2009, as reported by the Tennessean. The incident allegedly occurred prior to 8 a.m. on Callis Road in Wilson County. According to an officer from the Lebanon Police Department, the West Wilson Middle School bus driver, Marshall Davidson, was allegedly in the median, trying to cross Highway 109 from Callis Road with the rear of the bus three quarters of the way into the southbound lane of the highway. A driver heading south on the highway reportedly didn’t notice the stopped bus,and struck the tail end of the bus. The name of the SUV driver was not provided though she was described as a 16-year-old female.

There was a total of fourteen West Wilson Middle School students on the bus at the time of the wreck. Emergency medical services (EMS) crews on the scene allegedly transported three of the middle school students to area hospitals for the treatment of their non-life threatening injuries. It was reported that two other students were taken to local hospitals by their parents after the crash to be treated for minor injuries by doctors and nurses.

The uninjured students were transported by another school bus to school and were reportedly checked by the school nurse as a precautionary measure. Neither of the drivers received any citations after the incident. The accident is still being investigated by local police authorities.
