Criminal defense attorney, James “Bucky” Buchanan, was killed in a vehicle crash at his home.
Las Vegas, NV—A high profile Las Vegas criminal defense lawyer, James “Bucky” Buchanan, tragically died in a single-vehicle crash on Saturday, November 7, 2009. Buchanan reportedly experienced a medical episode that caused him to run into a concrete wall around 6:00 p.m., as reported by Las Vegas Now.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department reported 74-year-old Buchanan was trying to back up his 1988 Ferrari in his driveway when he apparently experienced a medical episode. The episode caused Buchanan to loose control of his luxury vehicle and rear end a concrete block wall at his home near Hollywood Blvd and Stewart Avenue. Buchanan was then rushed by responding emergency medical services (EMS) teams to University Medical Center for treatment. Attending doctors and nurses pronounced that Buchanan’s injuries proved fatal shortly after arrival. The Clark County Coroner is currently conducting an autopsy to determine the cause of this tragic accident. Buchanan was reportedly the only person inside the vehicle at the time.
The accomplished lawyer was reportedly a U.S. Naval Academy graduate, and a part owner of several restaurants. He even started in his own reality television show, “Las Vegas Law.” In addition he also worked as a FOX5 legal analyst, and often contributed to charity and fundraising efforts.
