Idaho State Police alerts automobile accident lawyers- A Caldwell High School senior was killed in a school bus crash.

Boise, ID—A high school senior was killed after a head-on collision with a Vallivue School District bus. The fatal crash happened on Wednesday morning, September 23, 2009 around 7:42 a.m., at Indiana Avenue south of Ustick Road, as reported by The Idaho Press-Tribune.

According to Idaho State Police a Caldwell High School senior identified as Shawn Heckathorn, 17, was traveling southbound on Indiana Avenue when his GMC Sonoma crossed the centerline and into oncoming traffic. The GMC then slammed head-on into a northbound school bus driven by Chandra White, 28, of Nampa, which was transporting 40 students to school. Reportedly, none of the 40 students traveling on the school bus were injured in the wreck. Heckathorn was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by responding emergency medical services (EMS) crews. Heckathorn was wearing a seatbelt and the air bag did deploy, according to police officials. The school bus was reportedly transporting the students to Jefferson Charter School when the collision occurred. Another school bus arrived at the scene of the crash to take the students the rest of the way to school. Idaho State Police officials are conducting a full investigation into the fatal two-vehicle crash.
