Houston, TX—A head-on car crash, which involved a total of four vehicles, left two dead on Highway 242 in Montgomery County. The multiple vehicle collision occurred on Monday night, September 7, 2009 around 10:00 p.m., as reported by My Fox Houston.
According to police reports, a silver Toyota sport utility vehicle (SUV) was traveling east on Highway 242, when the SUV crossed the center line and smashed head-on into a Ford Escape. Two more vehicles joined the wreck after hitting the two initial wrecked cars in the middle of an unlit road. Texas police authorities received the 911 call, and immediately dispatched LifeFlight and additional emergency medical services (EMS) crews. One person was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash by responding EMS professionals. Another victim was pronounced dead while being transported by EMS personnel to a local hospital for treatment. A third victim was trapped inside one of the wrecked cars, and was transported by EMS teams to a local hospital for treatment of their non-life threatening injuries. The third victim is reportedly in stable condition at this time. Police officials stated at least one person was charged with driving under the influence (DUI). Texas police officials are conducting a full investigation into the fatal crash.
