Austin Powder Co. explodes injuring 8!

Ohio personal injury lawyers- U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives is investigating an explosion at Austin Powder Co., injuring 8 workers.
McArthur, OH—Eight employees were left injured after an explosion at an explosives plant. The blast occurred on Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at the Austin Powder Co. plant around 10:30 a.m., as reported by the Columbus dispatch.
Three employees of the Austin Powder Co. plant, identified as Marletta Betts, Becky Castor, and Debbie Hagerty all from McArthur, were flown by a medical helicopter to the Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus for treatment of their serious injuries. Betts reportedly suffered burns, which covered most of her body. A fourth injured worker, Helen Hall, of McArthur was transported by area emergency medical service (EMS) crews to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. Several other workers were also injured, but were treated at the scene of the explosion by responding paramedics. According to accident investigators, the explosion occurred in the area where detonator cordage is made, which is an explosive fuse material. The plant is located in a rural area, which manufactures industrial blasting agents. Investigators are waiting for the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) http://www.atf.gov/ to finish investigating the blast site, and to give confirmation it is safe to enter the building. The explosion reportedly leveled the building where the explosion occurred.
