Stanislaus County residents mourn weekend pickup truck wreck fatality.

Modesto, CA(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–A two-vehicle automobile accident killed one man on Saturday morning in Stanislaus County. The Modesto Bee reports the motor vehicle collision (MVC) took place in Modesto on Highway 99 at approximately 8:30 a.m. California Highway Patrol (CHP) state troopers say a 2002 Toyota struck a 2003 Ford pickup truck, killing the truck’s driver. Modesto police officers identified the driver of the Toyota to be 20 year-old Kevin Amilcar Orellana, of Huntington Park. Orellana’s vehicle was weaving in and out of all three lanes of traffic at a fast speed. Stanislaus County highway fatality detectives state the pickup truck was heading northbound on the freeway, north of Crows Landing Road, in the leftmost lane. Orellana was passing cars in the other two lanes when he lost control of his vehicle and veered into the leftmost lane. California police authorities report Orellana’s vehicle hit the right side of the pickup truck. The Toyota then spun towards the left and ended up over the concrete median, while the pickup truck rolled over onto its roof. Police investigators closed off all three northbound lanes for nearly four hours while officials continued to investigate the pickup truck rollover.

Neither vehicle had any passengers. Police say that safety belts were worn by both drivers. The driver of the pickup truck, was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck by Modesto area emergency medical services (EMS) crews. The driver of the car, Orellana, did not suffer any injuries. Police detectives took Orellana, who is being suspected of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence, to Stanislaus County Jail.
