Lakeland area CSX freight train versus car crash injures 2

Westbound U.S. 98 car driver strikes freight train causing derailment and serious injury.
Lakeland, FL(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–As reported by the Lakeland Ledger, an automobile carrying a Frostproof, Florida couple traveling westbound on U.S. 98 collided with the 24th rail car of a freight train early Wednesday morning. The auto versus train crash caused three freight cars to derail and critically injured both the driver and the passenger.
The motor vehicle rolled over when the it struck the 26 car CSX freight train and ejected the driver, 73 year-old Billy Jack Rollins a Frostproof man. The Polk County Sheriff’s Department confirmed both the driver and passenger were transported by emergency medical services (EMS) personnel to Lakeland Regional Medical Center for treatment of their critical injuries. The freight train runs locally from Lakeland to Sebring and back. Polk County train crash officials continue to investigate the cause of the train crash.
