San Francisco, CA(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–On Tuesday afternoon, an Ocean Pacific charter bus carrying dozens of French tourists from Quebec, Canada, crashed on a Highway 101 overpass just north of Soledad. As reported by the Mercury News, dozens of passengers were ejected in the bus overture crash. Four passengers died after being thrown out of the bus and onto the highway below the overpass. One more victim was confirmed dead by doctors at a San Jose hospital.
California Highway Patrol (CHP) continues to investigate the cause of the fatal tour bus crash that has killed 5 and injured 32 passengers who were mostly French tourists. Emergency medical crews transported the injured to hospitals from Stanford to Fresno. The tour group was traveling from San Francisco to Santa Maria when the fatal bus accident happened at about 3:30 p.m. Coroner’s officials and California Highway Patrol were working with tour organizers to identify the dead passengers. CHP highway accident investigators say the bus appears to have rolled several times after striking a guardrail as it entered the overpass. According to media reports the mass casualty response by Monterey County emergency workers including law enforcement officers was prompt and efficient.
