Texas truck wreck kills female SUV driver and passenger in Colorado.

Dallas, TX (JusticeNewsFlash.com)–Two Colorado women were tragically killed Saturday, on Interstate 70, after their Jeep Liberty SUV was hit from behind by a semi-truck driver in Limon near eastern Colorado. As reported by Associated Press (AP), the 2 women in the SUV were 48-year-old Ginger Gillespie and 77-year-old Lois Kelton both from Grand Junction, Colorado. Authorities with the Colorado State Patrol on the scene reported that it appears the women were driving the Jeep Liberty at about 15 mph down eastern Colorado’s I-70 because of icy conditions on the highway. The driver of the semi truck, 62-year-old Richard E. Widmier, of Burleson, Texas, a suburb of Fort Worth, was driving his big rig truck about 55 mph down Interstate 70 when he rear ended the driver and passenger of the Jeep Liberty SUV.

Colorado State Patrol officers revealed both Gillespie and Kelton were wearing their seat belts at the time of the motor vehicle collision. Both women died from the catastrophic injuries they suffered in the fatal truck wreck and were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency medical crews. After the Tarrant County semi-truck driver collided with the SUV, it then crashed into a pickup truck and caused the pickup truck to collide with a Chevrolet Suburban SUV. No serious injuries were reported from the drivers or passengers of other motor vehicles involved in the truck wreck. Widmier, the driver of the Texas truck driver, was arrested on suspicion of vehicular homicide and other charges.
