Massachusetts police officer files stun gun maker lawsuit

New York, NY (JusticeNewsFlash.com)–The Associated Press (AP) reported a Massachusetts state trooper filed a lawsuit against the stun gun manufacturer Taser International. The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Worchester, alleges the officer, James Foley of Grafton, was exposed to an electrical shock from a weapon made by Taser. The shock bent a surgical screw in his leg.
Taser International Inc., headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, makes the Taser X-26 which court documents, filed by Grafton’s lawyer, claim the stun gun bent a surgical screw in his leg. The Taser X26 was used for demonstration purposes during a law enforcement seminar in 2006 Foley attended. Foley and his legal team are suing for $1 million in damages for pain and suffering which led to a reduction in his pay, law enforcement position and negatively affected his relationship with his wife.
